Sisters, let’s choose to be fully committed to God. It’s one of the ways we honor Him. And what is the benefit of committing our works to God? He promises to establish our thoughts.
Your works represent all that you do, everything you achieve, and all that you have. And your motives matter to God, too. Why do you do what you do? Is it for self-gain or is to glorify the Father? Does the fruit that you produce in your life reflect Jesus Christ?
It is interesting to me that God uses the work we do to establish our thoughts (instead of the other way around). God knows us! In Genesis 3:8, God asked Adam, “Where are you?” But in Genesis 3:13, He asked Eve, “What have you done?” (We were destined to do from the beginning!)
It’s important to seek God’s approval over your actions, your goals, and your dreams. Ask Him for instruction on how to proceed each day. In doing so, you receive the peace of God and get clarity in your thinking. Since you receive direction from God, you don’t have to wander around aimlessly.
Follow God’s instructions, and you will land right where you need to be—but your thoughts are still important. They determine the direction you will go once you “land.” God orders your steps, but if your thinking isn’t right, you will not follow. You will go your own way. Your thoughts influence your choices and your feelings, and they influence your words. Without a filter, everything that pops into your head will eventually come out of your mouth. Those words begin to produce fruit, so you have to mindful of your thoughts.
