Sisters, do not allow someone else to determine your destiny. Remember, God can use whomever He chooses to use. So, Sisters, that means He can choose You. When you are given advice or instruction that is contrary to the Word of God, you do not have to accept it, even if it comes from a pulpit. Pray about it. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom, strength, and guidance. Tune in to His voice and follow His Word. Do what God tells you to do the way He tells you to do it. Do what pleases the Lord, not other people. That means we have to develop a sincere relationship with the Lord. Remember, Jesus said His sheep know His voice. (John 10:1-5)
That leads me the real question that I need to ask, “Do you recognize God’s voice?” If your answer is no, then that’s an indication of a relationship that needs to be developed and strengthened. Prayer, reading and studying the Bible, and praise and worship help to develop your relationship with the Lord. God is Who He says He is. That means we have to spend time in His Word and believe that His Word is true. That belief will strengthen our faith in Him—and that is what ultimately pleases Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
You may be wondering, “What does that even mean—to recognize God’s voice?” Let me give you an example. Those who are close to me know my voice. I don’t have to announce myself on a call or leave my name in a voice message. They know me, so they recognize my voice. Do you know the Lord like that, so that when you hear His voice, you recognize Him speaking?
