That pull and desire to do everything causes us to place our will above God’s will for us. We place Jesus on the backburner so we can get things done, and it can happen before you even notice it.
God says, “Wake up and spend some time with Me before you start your day.”
You respond, “But God, I’m so tired, and the alarm hasn’t even gone off yet.”
God says, “I know you are hurting, but I want you to pray for (insert a name here).”
You respond, “But God, he/she caused me so much hurt; do I really have to?”
God says, “Go sit down and rest for a while.”
You respond, “Lord, I have too much to do today. If I don’t do it, who else will?”
