You may be wondering why I’ve given a detailed account of this particular flight on an airplane. Well, Sisters, I want you to know that there is a purpose for every single storm you encounter in your life, and God will protect you in the storm. We sometimes want to avoid the storms, don’t we? We cry out to God to cease the storms in our lives, and we want Him to move instantly. But this was not a “Peace, be still!” moment. (Mark 4:39) It was necessary for us to wait on the tarmac. We needed the delay from the storm, so the man could receive medical attention.
So today, I want you to know that those storms you encounter are allowed by God for a reason. It may be for your protection or it may be for your growth, but please know that God is always working on your behalf. Nothing catches Him by surprise. Romans 8:28 (NLT) says it beautifully:
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.
Sisters, God has left nothing to chance concerning your life, and when you are in the midst of a storm, trust God! The Holy Spirit is right there with you! Lean on Him. Cry out to Him. Do what He says to do. There is purpose in every storm, and God will protect His people.
