It May Be Friday…

First, let’s take a look at Matthew 27:46, 50 (NKJV):

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

That was on Friday.  Jesus was on the cross, dying for our sins.  Even He felt like God had forsaken Him.  Think about that for a minute.  Jesus Himself felt alone and abandoned.  When you feel that way, don’t turn away from God.  Run right to Him.  Tell Him exactly how you feel.  Be honest with Him (and be honest with yourself).  Please stop “Faking it ’til you make it.”  Tell God everything.  Release it all.  And please know that everyone will have a moment like this—if you haven’t, as my mom used to say, “Keep living!”

Circumstances may look bleak.  Let’s be honest; sometimes they may even seem insurmountable.  That’s how they appear on Friday.  But hold on, Sisters, Sunday is coming.  You see, when Jesus was crucified, it seemed like all was lost—on Friday.  But we know differently, don’t we?  Because on the third day, Jesus Christ rose with all power.  He fulfilled His purpose and restored our relationship with the Father.  He rose on the third day—but on day one, He asked, “How could you allow this, God?”
