Manna in Webster’s dictionary means:
1. Spiritual nourishment of divine origin. (You ever receive a blessing that you know only came from God?)
2. A windfall or unexpected gift. (A gift. You did nothing to earn it, but God saw fit to provide it anyway.)
The manna taught the Israelites to look to God for their daily bread. It pointed them right to God. This bread was provided to fill them up. You know that when you go to a restaurant, they serve bread while you are waiting for your entrée, right? It’s not a coincidence. The bread fills you up. Jesus is the Bread of Life. He desires to fill us. John 6:35 says, And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Meshall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
An interesting side note here: once they arrived in Canaan (the Promised Land), the manna ceased; God allowed them to feast upon the fruit of the land (Joshua 5:12).
My sisters, God is providing manna to you right now. Open your hearts to receive it, your eyes to recognize it, and your ears to hear the Spirit of God as He instructs you on what to do with it. He is your Source. Seek Him diligently. God has sent spiritual nourishment of a divine origin just for you, but will you recognize it?
