NLT says, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” Did you hear me, everything you need when you have your priorities in order.
And what is the source we are seeking to be filled from? It’s important to know that God is our Source—always! We have jobs and such, but they are simply resources. Even people can be valuable resources, but God is our Provider. He alone is our Source.
Let’s take a look at Exodus 16:6-7.
Then Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, “At evening you shall know that the Lord has brought you out of the land of Egypt. And in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord; for He hears your complaints against the Lord. But what are we, that you complain against us?” (I’ll come back to that last part.)
It’s interesting that in the evening they would knowthat God had brought them from Egypt and then at morning they would see the glory of the Lord. The knowing came before the seeing. That was a lesson for me. The knowing comes before the seeing. That’s faith, when you are totally convinced that God willmove on your behalf just because He said He will. We have to know what God has spoken concerning our lives and believe Him completely. Morning is coming. And then we will see it manifest. But we have to focus on what we know from the Word of the Lord, not what we see right now. And that can be a real challenge sometimes.
Look at verses 11-15. I love that God knows us and knows we need specifics sometimes.
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’ ”
