Not Another Word

Have you ever been so angry with someone that you felt, I mean actually felt, heat rising in your chest? Well, sisters, I have, and I’m going to share something with you today. Clearly, I am a work in progress, but I am learning, and it’s definitely worth sharing with you!

First of all, let’s be clear, being angry is not sin. Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty over being angry. Ephesians 4:26-27 (NKJV) says, “Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.” God does not say, “Don’t get angry.” He did not say that being angry makes you unholy. He said to be angry but don’t let the anger cause you to sin. And then He goes even further to tell you to resolve the issue so that you don’t leave an avenue for the enemy to wreak havoc.

I try to stay in constant communication with the Father because I need Him to direct my very words. I’m so serious, too! I call on Jesus all day long: in the car in the middle of traffic, at work, at home while I’m cooking dinner…You get the picture!

I know that I am gifted with words. Simply put: I love words. I always have. I love how they are used. I love how phrases fit together and how one word can speak volumes. (I was that kid who loved reading the dictionary.) God has groomed me to be very effective in communicating my thoughts into words. But, let me make this clear: that can be problematic sometimes because it can get me into trouble if I really say what I think without seeking the Lord first.

The Choice Is Yours

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:25

Free will.  The concept really is amazing to me.  We serve this Awesome God, and He doesn’t force us to do anything.  We can choose to serve Him or not, as long as we recognize our choices have consequences.  I love the song, “The Choice Is Yours,” by the hip hop group, Black Sheep.  (And, yes, I’m still saved.)  The hook of the song says, “You can get with this or you can get with that…I think you’ll get with this ’cause this is where it’s at.”  (Ok, so now I’m jamming as I type this message.)  That’s how I feel about my spiritual walk with the Lord.  God is “where it’s at.”  Why would I choose to be anywhere other than with my Father?

I want you to take a moment to think about your relationship with the Lord.  It’s one thing to really know Him and quite another to only know about Him.  I shared with a dear friend recently that my life has become more than an additional book of the Bible; it’s an adventure with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and me doing our collective “thing.”  Some days are full of action and others seem pretty mundane; but make no mistake, we’re riding this out together.  As a matter of fact, I am learning how to be content in those mundane moments because I can see God in the midst of them, too.

Grace, Prayer

A Prayer From My Heart to Yours

Heavenly Father, I pray that You will embrace Your daughters and breathe on each one of us.  Lord, renew us, restore us, replenish us, and revive us so that we can continue to walk in the manner which pleases You.  Forgive us for the times we have fallen short, for the times we have misrepresented You.  Father, thank You for the brand new mercies You bestow upon us daily.  I thank You for the Manna Sisters, and for what You are about to do in their lives.  I speak life to each one of them, and I believe that You are manifesting Your greatness in their lives right now.

I speak blessings upon each Sister in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Do You Really Know Who You Serve?

God has been speaking to me about how little His people truly understand how great He is.  Our limited understanding cannot begin to comprehend His majesty, His sovereignty, or His character.

Isaiah 40:12-31 gives us a glimpse of:

  • God’s power to create
  • God’s provision to sustain
  • God’s continued Presence to help

God spoke the world into existence.  Your words matter, so speak to life to everything around you.  We carry that creative power on the inside of us.  That’s why we have the power to influence the atmosphere.  Use your authority carefully.

God sustains us like no one else can.  He provides the vision and the provision.  He provides the manna to us each day, a right now word for our lives.  And His help is ever-present.  He’s always there; we just need to get into position.
