He’s Still Good

Sometimes life can be tough when we get consumed in the cares of the world.  We may even find ourselves crying out to God, “Why me?”  We are hurt, and we can’t seem to move beyond our circumstances.  Let’s face it, even the strongest of the strong have their moments.

Life is a series of cycles from suffering to overcoming.  And in the moments of intense suffering, we sometimes ask God, “Do You see me?  Are You really listening to my prayers?  Do You really know what I’m going through?”

The thing is, God heard you the moment the words came out of your mouth.  As a matter of fact, He heard them when they were still just thoughts floating around in your head.

God is trying to get us to quit focusing all of our energy and attention on our problems, burdens, tests, and circumstances – whatever it is that is causing us discomfort.  Instead, He wants us to focus on Him, the God we serve, and praise Him in the midst of it all.

From My Heart to Yours

I want you do to something for me.  Think about those conversations that you’ve had with the Lord when He just whispers in your spirit about the plans He has for you.  You know, those dreams that have been inside you for as long as you can remember.  What have you been dreaming about lately, or have you gotten so distracted with life that you’ve stopped dreaming?  God has placed some amazing things inside of you, and I really want you to allow Him to show you the real you, the one He formed with His own hands (the vessel He breathed life into).  Do you see her?

God has placed gifts, talents, and abilities in you to bring Him glory.  I’m not going to talk about the parable of the talents.  (That one is for another day.)  Instead, I want to bring your attention to Philippians 2:13.  It says, “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”  He wants us to thrive, and it is for His good pleasure.  Sisters, you bring our Father joy!  He has so much love for you that it cannot be contained.  He delights in you.  Do you really know that?  Our Father delights in us.  And guess what?  Those gifts that you carry on the inside give glory to God and encourage others to develop their gifts for His Kingdom.

Why Is This Fire Seven Times Hotter?

Have you ever experienced a time when you stood up for what you knew was right and you were walking in obedience to the Lord, and things still seemed like they were getting worse?  Like every time you turn around, something is happening that you have little or no control over?  Or maybe it’s the Job moment when all of the news is bad news at one time?  Those experiences can be very disheartening; I’m not going to even pretend that they aren’t.  But God promised to be with us always.  And He is not a man that He should lie.

Life is composed of twists and turns that can really take our breath away, but God promised that all things will ultimately work out for our good.  It’s so important to fully grasp onto that.  Sometimes things don’t feel good, but God is good.  When things go awry, and at some point they will, know that God is good and that He has the final say—always.  Recently, I talked to God about the Hebrew boys and the fiery furnace, and I’d like share a few things with you and hopefully encourage your spirit today.
