John’s disciples were complaining because people were going to Jesus, the Son of God, to be baptized instead of going to John. That’s right; they actually became upset because Jesus’s disciples were baptizing more people than they were. What difference did it make who was baptizing more as long as people were seeking Baptism?
Why are we competing in the church? Whether your ministry has ten people or ten thousand people, focus on living lives that please the Lord instead of trying to keep up with the folks around the corner. Be who God called you to be and do what He called you to do. Jesus paid the price for us all, not for those who appear blessed. And He is not impressed with your zip code, because God knows the real you and your real motives. He is concerned about the state of your soul. Let’s stop wasting time focusing on the wrong things! Sisters, we have work to do.
There is room for us all!
