Is it the constant negative self-talk that speaks to you all day long? Are you dealing with low self-esteem or self-doubt when it’s time to make a major decision? Are you constantly comparing yourself to other people and feeling like you just don’t measure up? Or maybe you experience moments of envy whenever you see another Sister receiving blessings from the Lord. Or have you found yourself complaining as you wait for God to fulfill a promise to you? Has it been difficult to maintain hope and not just yield to the idea that things will never get better? (negative self-talk, doubt, skewed self-perception, social comparison, envy, complaining, impatience, and hopelessness)
Maybe you have battled sickness for so long that you are not quite sure that God really can heal you. Or maybe the frustration of financial struggle has caused feelings of despair. Maybe you have found that you have become so busy that you are exhausted all the time (because you have confused being busy with being productive). Maybe the stress from each day has built up and now presents itself when you get behind the wheel of a car, and road rage tries to show up. Or maybe you find yourself contending with thoughts, wondering if God hears your prayers and sees your tears. (sickness, uncertainty, frustration, despair, financial hardship, busyness, exhaustion, stress, road rage, and doubt)
Or maybe you are reading this, saying to yourself, “Manna Chef, I don’t need to crucify anything. I’m good.” Well, Sister, I have news for you. If you see no area that needs improvement, you might need to crucify self-righteousness or arrogance because we are all works in progress. Everybody is working on something.
This week, in your prayer time with the Father, ask Him to reveal those things that need to be crucified, so that you can proceed in freedom. You were not designed to be entangled in things that are not of God. Ask God to reveal them, so you can release them. And once you have crucified those things that were never meant for you, it’s time to move forward. Do not resurrect something that was never meant to be attached to you. Crucify it and live in the newness that God promised to you.
