During that season, the process of actually relocating was frustrating because I knew that God said to move, I just didn’t have any of the pieces together. I couldn’t seem to make anything happen. What I didn’t fully realize at that time was that God didn’t ask me to make anything happen. Isn’t that what we try to do? Things aren’t moving fast enough, so we “make” something happen. But God never asked me to do that. He said for me to prepare to move. That’s it.
Sisters, we create havoc sometimes trying to make things happen, because what we make happen isn’t always good for us. If our steps are ordered by God, we don’t really have to make anything happen. We just have to follow His lead.
I didn’t have the wisdom then that I do now, so there I was trying to make a move with no real job prospects coming my way. It was hard trying to lean into the excitement rather than succumb to the discouragement that was creeping in. And, Sisters, there were some rough days. But I was determined, because I knew what God said.
