Don’t Wait, Part Two: Missing Out on the Promise

I tell you what, I’m not going to let fear keep me from my promises from God!   God moves in our lives every day.  It’s like we praise Him and thank Him—and then something happens.  Time goes by.  We seem to forget Who He is in our lives and then we begin to doubt.  Sisters, let’s decide today to believe the report of the Lord and to pursue whatever God has promised to us.

Well, after God spoke to Moses, Moses reported the Lord’s words to the children of Israel, and they were filled with grief.  And get this, the next morning, they woke up and decided that they were now ready to enter the Promised Land, after all of that!  Keep in mind, they had been led by a pillar of clouds by day and a pillar of fire by night, they had received manna and quails for sustenance, and had been on the receiving end of God’s supernatural power daily, but they wanted to enter the Promised Land on their own terms, not on God’s terms.  “Ok, we realize that we sinned, and now we’re ready to go.”  But it was too late!  And guess what?  They still tried to go anyway, even after Moses told them not to!  So, the Amalekites and the Canaanites, who lived in those hills, came down and attacked them and chased them away.  After all that had transpired, they were still choosing to do their own thing instead of what God had commanded.  Lord, have mercy on us!
