How many times have you claimed this Scripture, believing that if you just keep the faith and seek God diligently, He will reward or bless you? God is faithful, and He is constantly blessing His daughters, but the real question is what reward are you seeking from God?
We live in a world that is obsessed with obtaining things. Success is often measured by achievement, fame, and financial gain. If we are not careful, it becomes really easy to fill our lives with things and allow those things to define us. But our value is not measured by money, status, education, or titles.
I am certainly not telling you to stop pursuing excellence for your life. God promised life and that more abundantly. I just want you to take a moment to look at your motives.
- Have you become consumed in trying to acquire material things?
- What tool are you using to measure your success, and what is the reward for that success?
- What reward are you seeking from God?
- Are you simply focused on things from God?
Yes, He is our Rewarder, but look back at Genesis 15:1.
