I know that pressure. My eighteen-year-old self was a dreamer. She had big plans, but she had no idea that her life would experience so many ups, downs, twists, and turns. At this point in my life, there is no way I can use the barometer of that 18-year old. I’m older and much wiser so I cannot use the perspective of a child.
I am still a firm believer in setting goals. I know that faith without works is dead, so I have to put in the work to achieve my dreams and desires. But I also know that there have been many times when God led me to a whole different outcome than what I was anticipating. So, what may have appeared as failure on a piece of paper may have actually been the setup of a lifetime: God launching me into my destiny.
Sisters, it’s important to align your expectations with those of the Father. Your expectation is in and from Him. (Psalm 62:5) Let’s quit trying to measure up to others’ expectations of us. Who does God say you are? That is who you are supposed to be! Sisters, stop comparing yourself to other people.
