It is peace that guards your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. You don’t need to protect peace; you need to pursue and claim the peace of God, knowing that it surpasses your limited understanding. And did you notice that peace guards your heart and your mind? How many of you know that the mind is where your fiercest battles take place? If the enemy can influence your mind, he will begin to have access to your actions, too.
Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Everything you do, every choice you make, flows from your heart. That is why you need to protect your heart! And that lead us right back to peace. Peace is there to guard your heart and your mind!
I envision peace as a fortress around me, calming, soothing, directing, healing, and instructing me daily. Peace prevents my thoughts from wearing me out! Have you ever had to calm your mind when chaos is all around you? Sisters, that is peace moving on your behalf! Peace doesn’t need your protection. Peace needs your attention.
