How many times have we begun to drown in a situation and then turn to everyone but Jesus? We ask our parents, spouses, dear friends, and anybody who will listen. And then finally, when no one else can help, we turn to Jesus. Peter had enough sense to know where His help came from. And he wasted no time in asking for help. He didn’t try to prove that he was smart enough to solve the problem or that he was a great swimmer and would try to swim to the boat. He cried out to Jesus and immediately Jesus reached out to him!
We can learn a lot from Peter’s experience. He was prepared to do what no other person but Jesus has ever done. He trusted Jesus enough to step out of the boat and begin to walk—on a lake.
It makes me wonder, “Are you ready to take that next step toward your destiny?”
