God’s Math!

The Lord is not concerned with how little we think we have.  He is God, and through Him, there isn’t anything that we cannot do.

Look at moments in your past when you didn’t think you were going to make it – but somehow you did!  God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we may ask or think according to the power working in us (Ephesians 3:20).  Is the Power of God working on the inside of you?  If so, your faith can move those mountains.

Okay, so I know you’re getting the point now, but I have to share one last illustration.

In 2 Kings 4:1-7, a widow’s sons had been enslaved due to an unpaid debt.  (It was common practice at that time.)  In verse 2, the prophet Elisha entered the scene and asked, “How can I help?  What do you have in the house?”

The widow explained that all she had was a pot of oil, one pot.  Elisha told her to get as many empty vessels as she could find, and not just a few either, to fill from her one pot of oil.

She filled up every pot she could find!  From one pot of oil?  (again, the math!)   The widow was able to sell the oil, pay the debt, free her children, and live on the rest.  Did you know that your faith can free the bonds of the people around you?
