Well, guess how Nabal replied? “Who is this dude named David? Who does he think he is? Should I just give away my stuff to just anybody?” He even called David and his men outlaws.
Another important side note: sometimes you may encounter people who just don’t recognize who you are in the Kingdom of God. Don’t get lost in their perception of you. Find your identity in Jesus Christ and walk according to His promises.
Nabal’s selfishness was about to affect everybody around him, because David strapped up his sword and commanded his men to do the same. And all of this resulted because Nabal didn’t want to share from his surplus. Greed is a powerful motivator that leads to destruction.
