Meditate on These Things

This gives a pretty good list of the various topics that should occupy our thoughts:  true, noble, just, pure, lovely, virtuous, praiseworthy matters, and those good reports that point you to your Father’s ability to move on behalf of His people.

When you focus on positive thoughts, your mind is open to recognizing the goodness of the Lord.  You will be full of hope and joy because you know your Father is in control of all things at all times, no matter how circumstances may seem.  When you dwell on the negativity around you, your energy level is affected.  Sisters, it’s so important to learn how to tap into the joy of the Lord when the weight of the world is on your shoulders.  That joy is your strength –even though you may feel weak – because you have access to God’s strength.  (His strength is made perfect in your weakness, according to 2 Corinthians 12:9.)

Each time you have a negative thought today, immediately feed your mind with a positive thought: your favorite Scripture, a fond memory, a praise report, a moment you felt the Presence of the Lord, etc., and watch how your actual demeanor is affected.  Your countenance will reflect the joy that is on the inside of you, not the circumstances around you.  You can actually decide where to focus your energy today.  (Yes, you really can choose!)  So, I encourage you to meditate on what brings life to your spirit.
