God Is Your Shield

God promises to protect you from dangers seen and unseen, even those things that you don’t even know about.  He offers 24/7 protection, and His service is better than the security system you own.  He is your Shield, and He can withstand anything!  Will you allow Him to take control of your situation today?  Allow Him to take His place in your life.  He can take the blows, and He can stop them from even coming in your direction.

But God didn’t stop there.  He made a promise to Abram, “I’m going to reward you exponentially for your obedience.”  You see, in the previous chapter, the king of Sodom offered Abram the spoils of a battle.  But Abram refused because God had told him to take nothing that belonged to the king, not even the thread to a sandal strap, otherwise, the king may have wanted to take credit for Abram’s success or the riches he later acquired.  Sisters, pay attention to every detail in the instructions God gives to you.

Obedience gets God’s attention.  What has God told you to do?  How did you respond?  (And if you haven’t obeyed yet, you are still here so there’s still time.)  God promises to reward you when you obey Him.  And your obedience means more to Him than what you sacrifice for Him.  We sometimes get caught up in what we think we are doing for God and His Kingdom.  Maybe we should spend a little more time listening to God to simply obey what He is telling us to do.
