If we need advice, we ask a friend. When we have a prayer request, we reach out to our prayer partner(s). When situations occur that are beyond our control, we seek wise counsel. When needs arise, we sit down and figure out a plan to “make things happen.” And all of those things are productive ways to seek help; I’m not suggesting that they are not. But think about this for a moment: what if we sought God first when we need assistance, advice, counsel, or even a listening ear?
I want you to try something today. Talk to God before you talk to anyone else concerning what is on your mind. Ask Him for guidance. Seek His Word for direction. Ask the Holy Spirit for answers. Ask Jesus for help. Then, watch how the Lord responds. He may even point you to one of the resources you have already established a relationship with—or He may give you an answer that you would have never even imagined. Remember Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT) says, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” God has some plans that will blow your mind, Sisters. It’s time for us to think “out of the box” so we can reach other Sisters who are waiting on the sidelines.
