Leaning on What I Know

Let me share something with you.  You can feel however you feel right now.  It is truly necessary to be honest with how you really feel.  It doesn’t make you weak.  It shows that you are human and in touch with your emotions.  And guess what?  You can be aware of your emotions and still stand on the Word of God.  You can land at, “I feel ____, but I know the Word of God says…”  In other words, you are aware of your feelings, but you are not being led by them.

I feel ____, but I know ____. (insert a Scripture that addresses what you are feeling.)

I encourage you to actually write that down and fill in those blacks any time you feel like your emotions seem overwhelming.

And reach out to a trusted sister—a woman of integrity—who you can talk to in all honesty.  Use wisdom and reach out to someone who has the capacity to hold what you’ve been carrying.  (And she needs to have the wisdom to hand that on over to Jesus Christ.)  You were not designed to carry burdens and stress.  Sister, you were designed to walk in freedom.
