The Dinner Party

Then I looked a little deeper for the spiritual implications.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  (1 John 1:9)

First of all, know that there will be times when you just get it wrong.  You may have had the best of intentions, but you simply made the wrong choice.  It happens.  Or maybe you were willing to take your chances, fully aware that you were going to reap consequences for your choices.  The Bible is really clear that we will reap what we sow.  (So, it’s important that you accept that your choices go beyond you; they affect the people around you.)

Good choices lead to blessings, rewards, and benefits.  Bad choices lead to chaos, curses, and heartache.

When you do fall short, and at some point you will, take those mistakes right to God.  Don’t hide from Him; run to Him.

And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.  (1 Peter 4:8)

Did you notice that the Word does not say, love covers up a multitude of sins?  It says “covers.”  Jesus paid for all of it, but we are still accountable for what we do with our lives.

Think about the dinner party.  What if we made choices that allowed us to feel great after eating?  We could still order the best on the menu—we’d just make better choices, right?  Sisters, we serve a God who already paid the price.  You can choose to live in the abundance of Jesus Christ, so choose wisely, Sisters.
