Did you notice that the man’s sins were forgiven because of his friends’ faith? The verse doesn’t say that Jesus was moved by the man’s condition or his level of trust in God. Jesus moved because He saw the level of faith from the man’s friends. Sisters, you have that type of influence on behalf of your friends!! That alone encourages me to pull in a little closer to the Father so I can believe for more for my Sisters!
In verse 24, Jesus told the paralyzed man to get up and go home. His sins were forgiven and he was healed—because his friends had the faith to believe that Jesus could do it. The passage doesn’t say that Jesus moved because the man had faith. Jesus moved because the man’s friends had faith! No matter how strong a Christian you believe you are, there will be some moments when your level of faith may get low or you find yourself battling doubt. That’s why who you are connected to is so important. Connect to a Sister who can get to the throne of the Father on your behalf! And know this: you may be the legs someone needs right now to stand on the promises of God.
Did you also notice that when the man’s friends couldn’t go the usual route to reach Jesus, the made their own way—through the roof? And where did they place him? Right in front of Jesus! They didn’t just get him in the room somewhere; they positioned him right in front of Jesus.
Do you have friends like that, ones that will do whatever it takes to get you to the throne of God? If not, you need to expand your circle—and maybe make some necessary adjustments to who is in your close circle of friends. Surrounding yourself with Sisters who are full of faith will also build your faith. And while you are taking that spiritual inventory, this may be a good time for self-evaluation. Are you that kind of faithful friend?
Sisters, I want to encourage you to get even closer to the Father and spend time in His Word. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). So, to increase your faith, you have to spend time in the Word. God is Who He says He is. Your Word time, dedicated time that you spend reading the Bible, will build your faith as you realize the many ways that God shows up for His people. And that includes you, His most precious daughter! God has made some promises to you. Read that Word and claim them—for you and your Sisters!
