Jehovah Jireh

I remember times when my bills were piled up, and I just didn’t know how I was going to make it.  And I’m not talking about a few here and there.  I’d gone through a divorce.  I had just started a new job, and my monthly income didn’t even total the amount of my bills.  I felt like I was drowning.  I didn’t know what else to do but to give them to God, and I mean that literally.  I sat at the table and held up the bills, tears and all, and said, “God, I cannot do this without You.  I desperately need Your help.”

As I look back now, I can see how God has strategically taken care of me.  He created opportunities for me to produce income.  And on an occasion where I needed actual cash beyond what was in my bank account, He directed me where to go.  It was humbling but it met my needs.  And then He gave me the strategy to get my head “above the water.”  I know firsthand that God is my Provider!

He knows what we need before we even need it.  Do you believe that?  Nothing that happens in our lives catches Him by surprise.  (Although those same things may catch us by surprise and make us feel unprepared.)   God is right there with you, whether you feel His Presence or not.  And He knows the remedy for every situation that you will ever experience.  Just know that He will provide.  Make sure you listen for His instruction, so that you can follow His lead.  Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV) reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

When you can’t see your way out, just know that God has the way for you, and He is your Source.  Your job is a resource.  The people around you may have resources.  You, yourself, are equipped to be a resource.  But the Lord is the Source.  So, take your requests to His throne and ask Him for direction.  He is Jehovah Jireh, and He will provide!
