Abraham named that place “Jehovah Jireh, the Lord will provide.” You know what? Your words have power, Sisters. As a matter of fact, I dare you to find a place in your home right now and call it, “the Lord will provide!” For real! What if we, the people of God, really believed God like that, having full confidence that our God will provide for His people?
There’s something about the process of sacrifice. It doesn’t always feel good. It stretches you beyond what you think is your limit. In that powerful moment, you realize that God is worth everything to you, so you are willing to give everything to Him without concern for what you think you’ll lose because you know that He is able to restore.
Sacrifice to God allows us to prioritize Him above all else. Now let me be clear here, God doesn’t require that we literally sacrifice another’s life because Jesus paid it all at the cross. Jesus became the perfect sacrifice so there is no need to walk around in sackcloth and ashes. And know this: God would rather have your obedience than your sacrifice. That’s deep!
It is important to note that the ram didn’t show up until after Abraham followed the directions he’d received. How many of us can say that we complete the steps that the Holy Spirit instructs so we have the full confidence to know that God is going to meet whatever need has come our way? We have to do our part, Sisters, so be ready to obey when God speaks.
