Listening for His Voice

Let me clear here though, I have had moments, many moments, when I wasn’t quite sure.  The message from the voice lined up with promises in the Bible, but I wasn’t sure if it was me influencing the voice I heard.  (Have you ever experienced that?)  During those times, I had to ask the Lord to confirm His word.   He tells us to ask, so why not ask for clarity in discerning His voice?   What requests have you laid before your Father?  What instructions has He given?  Do you need to ask for clarity?  Go ahead, Sister, He’s right there, waiting for you to ask.

God knows that we sometimes need assurance—that’s why He gave us the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us into all truth.  The Holy Spirit not only comforts us, but He reveals the will of the Father to us.  Jesus reminded His disciples, “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.  But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” (John 14:25-26 NKJV)  The Holy Spirit is there to help you, Sister.  Have you called upon Him today?

And look back at John 10:27.  Jesus said, “I know them, and they follow Me.”  You can take great comfort in knowing that Jesus knows you.  He knows what’s going on in your life.  Nothing will take Him by surprise, not even your response to the things going on around you.  He knows everything there is to know about you, and He still chooses to love you.

Take some time today to sit still and listen to God’s voice today—not the deafening sounds of worry and fear.  Listen to the loving voice of your Savior.  What is Jesus saying to you today?
