And, honestly, sometimes we need a break from the act of pursuing. We really do have to learn how to be present, in the moment, and thrive right where we are! That’s right; you can thrive in that job that sometimes drives you crazy. You can thrive in that neighborhood that you’re considering leaving. You can thrive in that marriage that seems wrought with challenges. You can thrive in that program you’re considering leaving to pursue another study. You can thrive in that church where you haven’t been able to spread your wings because you feel stagnant. Don’t allow present circumstances to cause you to forget who you are and Who you serve. You, my sister, are designed to thrive. Yes, you are designed for greatness!
Today, I encourage you to take a moment to be present and grateful right where you are. Philippians 4:11 (NKJV) reminds us, “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.” Of course, you have laid petitions before the Lord. Of course, you have a litany of prayer requests. I’m not telling you to stop asking God to move on your behalf, keep asking! I’m encouraging you to take some time to appreciate where you are, right at this very moment. You are so blessed; do you know that? Take some time today to just be still and be in the moment. Feel everything that is in that moment. It’s a moment that was already planned by God, so there’s no need to fear, worry, or be anxious about anything. God has it all figured out. Today, all you need to do is be where you are!
