I really believe that God pushed the pause button on us this year, one global “Selah” for us all. He challenged us to develop deeper roots in Him and to really hold onto our faith. We have learned to appreciate each day as it has come. God shut just about everything down and allowed us to spend time with Him and our families as we “sheltered in place.” For those on the front lines, the Holy Spirit held your hand as you maneuvered through some very difficult days. And He is still holding your hand every single day.
Through all of this, God has taught us to refocus on what really matters, and He is still pointing us to II Chronicles 7:14, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
When we really turn out hearts toward Him, we will experience miraculous results. Read that Scripture again. It contains a beautiful conditional promise. When we do our part, God will move and do His. He will hear from heaven and heal our land. Don’t we need healing right now?
Just this morning, someone sent me a video of a song with the songwriter basically asking, “God, where are you?” God hasn’t gone anywhere. We, His people, need to make our way back to Him. He is still the answer to all of the chaos in the world.
Sisters, if you focus on the goodness of the Lord and all of His blessings, expressing gratitude to Him becomes the natural response. So, again, I encourage you to take a moment to pause and reflect on just how much your Heavenly Father truly loves you as you write your list of blessings you received in 2020. Happy New Year!
