That passage is a great check for us. What does worrying accomplish? Nothing!! It cannot help you in any way. All it does is frustrate you and drain you spiritually and physically. Worry happens when we try to take on things that we are not equipped to handle. Think about it, when you have control, there’s nothing to worry about so you just go on confidently about your Father’s business.
I’ll be honest, I’ve had some challenging weeks that were hard for me spiritually. (I won’t even pretend that they weren’t difficult to deal with.) Have you ever had moments when you have found yourself in an outright struggle with your own thoughts—not even the actual circumstances, but your reaction to them? I’ve been there, and it’s exhausting! It caused some sleepless nights, tossing and turning trying to figure everything out.
One night, God woke me up late and said to me, “Rest your mind. Let go. Take a look at Who I really am. When you truly see how Magnificent, Awesome, Mighty, and Wonderful I am, you will stop worrying about all of the details because I have worked everything out for you. Stop. And then I will bless you beyond measure.”
Whew, I get chills just thinking about that moment! God reassured me that He had everything under control. And every now and then, I need those reminders. We all do, especially when we don’t quite understand how God is moving.
In the midst of an intense trial, a dear friend once sent me this message: People who don’t truly grasp the whole of God, can’t understand the move of God. To worldly eyes it doesn’t make sense. In God’s eyes, it’s perfect.
I haven’t forgotten that. Sisters, you may not understand how God is moving, but know that He is moving and that He is always taking care of you. In Romans 8:28, He promised that all of it will work out for your good. There’s no need to worry; focus your energy on believing that God will see you through.
