The man who had the evil spirit in him jumped on them! He overpowered them all! He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and wounded. When you mess around with the enemy without the Presence of God, you are preparing to get a beat down! The man leaped on them, overcame them, and prevailed against them, all because they were operating without the anointing of God! They ran out naked – exposed. And they were wounded. That’s all you get when you battle the enemy without spiritual preparedness: wounded and exposed.
Everyone heard about what happened. (We all know how quickly news travels.) And when the people heard about the encounter, fear fell on them. We have to get back to fearing God, and we have to recognize the necessity of God’s Presence in our lives. The people got the message and the name of Jesus was magnified. Everybody was talking about it. After witnessing what happened, the people turned their hearts to God. Although the men acted foolishly, God still prevailed. His plan will always come forth whether you are on the blessed end or the foolish end.
Many came and confessed their evil deeds. They turned their lives to Christ. They removed from themselves the things that were not of God. When you have an encounter with Jesus, you want to be more like Him. Have you removed things that are not of God from your life? And the people didn’t just discard the items, they burned them. They didn’t put them away in a box. They didn’t cover them up in the back of the closet. They burned them to completely rid themselves of what wasn’t of God. Their rejection and separation from ungodly things resulted in God’s blessing.
It’s time to become a real threat to the enemy!!
