Whose Steps Are You Following?

Be careful and seek wise counsel—but always seek God first.  Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.”  We can’t lean to our own understanding because God’s ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts.  We cannot even begin to fathom the greatness of God because we are limited.  But God is limitless.  We seek Him because He is all-knowing.  He is equipped to handle every situation we could ever encounter.  Why not trust Him?

Stepping out requires faith and courage.  You know the enemy’s greatest weapon?  Fear.  But as a child of God, you do not have to be led by the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.  Walk in the authority that God placed upon your life.  If you belong to God, act like it.  You are more than a conqueror.  Act like it.  God placed dreams inside of you for a reason.  You have been called to greatness.  Accept it.  Walk in it.  Blaze the trail.  You’re walking by faith because He’s asking you to do something in a whole new way.  You can’t always follow someone else’s steps anyway.  It’s by design; then no one can take credit for His work.

Follow God.  He will never leave you nor forsake you, and He has guaranteed results of success.  He’s expecting a return on His investment.  Trust Him.  Follow Him.  He has ordered the actual steps for you to take.  You don’t have to venture out on your own.  He’s made the way.  You just have to walk in it.
