He’s Still Good

When you have time, read Job chapters 38-42.  Job was a man who was hand-picked by God to suffer.  Isn’t that deep?  Hand-picked to suffer.  And in the midst of intense suffering, Job found himself complaining.  You ever get angry with God and ask, “God, how much more am I supposed to take?”   (Be honest with yourself.)

You know what?  That’s how Job felt.  He began to feel sorry for himself.  And God came to Job and spoke out of a whirlwind, basically calling him out.  God was saying, “You doubt what I can do because you have lost sight of Who I am.”  Job was lost in the suffering because what God had allowed was beyond Job’s limited understanding.  Job was hurting.  He’d lost everything.  How would you have reacted to that predicament?

You ever ask, “How can a God Who loves me so much allow me to suffer so much?”  You see, in the midst of the suffering, we cannot see Romans 8:28 clearly and know that everything will ultimately work out for our good.  We get caught up in our feelings and lose our grasp on the Word of God.  But when the struggle is the toughest, we have to hold on even tighter to God’s Word.
