Genesis 2:7 says, And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
The Lord breathes life into us every day. We need Him to, don’t we? Sometimes we need Him to actually resuscitate our spirit man when those moments in life get hard or when we just feel weak or all alone. God’s breath renews, revives, sustains, and restores us.
It saddens me when I hear people blame God for misfortunes they experience. (And yes, I’ve been guilty of that, too, if you were wondering.) God did not promise us that every day would be a great day. He didn’t say that we wouldn’t shed tears or experience pain. But He did say that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). He is right there with us every step of the way. God has actually held my hand as I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, so I know firsthand that He will do it. I decided then, I didn’t just want to be alive; I decided to really live my life in abundance. And in order to do that, I need Jesus to breathe on me each and every day.
Today, I want to remind you that all things really will work together for your good (Romans 8:28). It may not look like it right now, but you cannot see the end of the road. You don’t know all that the Lord has in store for you. He knew your ending before your life even began. So, just because you can’t see (right now) how things are working out for you when you are pursuing His will and His way, know that God is working behind the scenes just for you!
I dare you to ask Him right now to breathe on you. It’s more refreshing than you could ever imagine! Open your heart today and let Him in. You won’t regret it!
