Unafraid

Ephesians 6:10-12 (NLT) reminds us to, “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.  For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

It’s important to put on your armor every single day!  And the key is to rely on the power of His might, not your own, and stay connected to Him in an authentic relationship.  There is no reason to fear when you are covered in your holy armor!

Those cows weren’t afraid because they knew, by their sheer size, they were not easy targets; they could use their size as an advantage.  Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior?  Do you have the Holy Spirit dwelling on the inside of you?  (Those sound like advantages to me.)  You are a daughter of the King of glory.  Who is this King of glory?  The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.  (Psalm 24:8 NKJV)  And when you tap into His might, you will not be defeated.  He even has angels assigned to protect you.  Isn’t that amazing?

For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. (Psalm 91:11-12)

And remember, you do need to be aware of the enemy’s tactics.  He knows your weaknesses; he’s been studying you for quite some time.  He knows which buttons to push and when to push them.  But he is still subject to Jesus Christ—so the enemy can only go so far.  Don’t get deterred if the enemy gets a few “licks” in.  You know when it’s all said and done, he loses.  You have access to the tools to defeat him, so there is no need to live in fear.  God has left us with spiritual armor.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.   Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Ephesians 6:13-17

Are you wearing your battle gear today?

The cows also stayed in groups and protected their young.  We are members of the same body who need each other.  Stay connected to the Lord and His people with a genuine interest in their well-being. The cows only allowed the calves to go so far out into the water.  Are you protecting those around you and equipping them with the tools to defeat the enemy?  Are we really training up our children the way God has instructed?  Are we supporting our young even when we may not completely understand them sometimes?  Get to know God even more than you know Him today and really seek to understand who you are in Christ.  Then you’ll see, you have no reason to fear the enemy!  As a matter of fact, he should fear the God in you!
