Ecclesiastes 3:10(NLT) says, “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” There is a time for everything, and seasons are cyclical. Maybe pursuing that business when you were 25 looked like a great idea, but you didn’t have the wisdom you have today. You can still pursue that degree if that’s your desire. Be like Nike and “just do it.” God is not bound by our limited concept of time. Psalm 90:4(NLT) says, “For You, a thousand years are as a passing day, as brief as a few night hours.” God is able to move throughout time to reach whatever that thing is that you think in unreachable. Do you really believe that He can do it?
And then there are those lies that the enemy brings before us time and time again: you aren’t enough, and you don’t have enough. Well, let me ask you this? If our God is a God of much more than enough, why wouldn’t He create people who are much more than enough—if we are made in His image and His likeness? (Genesis 1:26-27) You already have what you need. God placed it on the inside of you. You are worthy of His love, mercy, and grace. You don’t even have to try to earn it; just accept that He gave it to you. And ladies, stop trying to prove who you are and your worth. Just be who you are.
Your responsibility is to cultivate your gifts. Just as God instructed Adam to tend to the garden in Genesis 2:15 (to cultivate and watch over it), we are to develop those gifts, talents, and abilities that God has entrusted to us. Let me say it again: you already have what you need. Still don’t believe me?
