From My Heart to Yours

But I have a question for you.  Do you sometimes struggle with finishing what God allowed you to start?  Did you even ask Him for direction, or did you just jump on out there?  I have learned that just because I can do something doesn’t mean God has instructed me to do it at that particular moment.  I have also learned that when God has instructed me to do something, I cannot get away from it, no matter how hard I have tried.  Although I do have free will, for me there is no other choice than to obey my Father.  But that doesn’t mean I have always jumped at each opportunity ready and willing to do what He said.  I’ve been Jonah before, running in the opposite direction of where God said to go or opposite of what He said to do.  I’ve been Naaman, mad because God instructed me to do something that I didn’t understand or even want to do.  I’ve been Gideon, needing sign after sign for confirmation.  But you know what?  I’m grateful for just being me, the one who seems to find her way back at the throne of God awaiting instruction, seeking just to please Him.  The one He healed miraculously, equipped masterfully, and loves intensely.

So, again, I ask: who are you?  I mean the real you.  What are you really seeking from God at this season in your life?  Or are you too afraid to ask for what you really want?  (I double dare you to ask Him for it!)  Philippians 1:6 says, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  He is just waiting for you to follow His lead.  Ask Him.  Believe Him.  Take that leap.  God is right there, ready to help you soar!
