Lord, You Want Me To Do THAT?

Did you notice that Moses didn’t actually do what God told him to do?  God said, “Speak to the rock” [and God would do the rest], but Moses struck it twice with the staff—as if he was causing the water to flow.  It’s really important to listen to God’s instruction:  His will, His way.

And verse 12 reads: “But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust Me enough to demonstrate My holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!‘ “

God used Moses to do some extraordinary things.  Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, but he didn’t step foot in Canaan—none of that generation did.  He saw it, but didn’t get to experience it firsthand.  Don’t miss out on your Promised Land because you’re too busy battling excuses and unbelief.  We have to obey God—His will and His way.

He knows who we are and how we are, and He loves us! He is completely aware of our flaws and our tendency to fall short daily.  It’s in these moments that He can truly get the glory out of our lives.  Our confidence should never be in ourselves, our own abilities, or how great other people think we are.  Our confidence and expectation are in Him.  It’s in Him that we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:28).

All God needs from us is “Yes, Lord, I am available for Your use,” and then actually do what He says to do.
