First of all, the answer to all of those questions is: only God. Nothing else and no one else can compare to Him; there is no equal to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
Think about that for a moment. It makes me wonder, why do we sometimes think that God doesn’t see our troubles or that He doesn’t care about us? Could it be that we are focusing on the circumstance instead focusing on our God in the midst of the circumstance? Why do we let so many things pull us from seeking God and His Presence? We allow the cares of life to entangle us and distract us when God has the solution to every problem we will ever have. Galatians 5:1 says, Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Jesus set us free, yet many of us choose to live in bondage. Don’t entertain the enemy even for a moment. Focus on the God you serve.
And we know how Isaiah 40 ends in verses 29-31 (NKJV):
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases
strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and
be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Waiting on God leads to renewal, not because of who we are but because of Who God is. We get tired and grow weary, but God never does. And God’s love is everlasting; there’s nothing we can do to make Him stop loving us. Jeremiah 31:3 says, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”
