Exodus 33:9-11 And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. 10 All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door. 11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.
Think about that for a moment. God Himself talked with Moses as a man speaks to his friend. And the people saw and they worshipped too! Isn’t that awesome? Well, guess what? Jesus said that He no longer calls us His servants, but His friends. When we learn how to seek His face and get into His presence, our focus becomes solely on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
It’s not just a matter of a designated prayer time or meeting Him at church. It’s really a matter of enjoying Him anywhere and anytime. That is when you can enjoy the peace that surpasses all your understanding. You have to be diligent and purposeful in your pursuit of God. Be intentional. Don’t wait until bedtime to seek God—you’re tired by then. Invite Him into your midst throughout the day. Set the stage for His presence.
What are some things we can consciously do to develop our environment to experience peace and arrive at the place of rest?
