The Holy Spirit understands that things get hard for us. That’s why Jesus reminded us in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Jesus already overcame every test and trial that comes our way. We just need to tap into His power and receive the peace that passes our understanding.
In one of my tantrums to the Holy Spirit, He replied, “It’s bigger than you.” The tests and trials I have had to go through—bigger than me. The heartache and pain I’ve experienced—bigger than me. The setbacks and challenges—bigger than me. And the uncanny way He prevails every time through all of it—that’s bigger than me too! My life is a testament that God’s word is true. No matter what. And so is yours. The enemy wants us to doubt the Word of God. He tries to trick us into believing that God doesn’t hear us or that He does not care when it comes to things that concern us. The enemy wants us to settle and to lead ho-hum lives. But that is not what God promised. He is the God of abundance. Why would we settle for just getting by?
God cannot lie and His Word cannot return void. If He said it, then that’s all there is to it. You have been called to greatness. And you know what? It’s bigger than you too. It all about Jesus! And when you yield to God—completely, everyone around you is affected. You can influence your whole environment. Don’t believe me? Turn to 1 Timothy 4:14-16.
Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
